2020 - A Time To Review

This new year, set attainable goals.

The new start to a fresh year usually inspires many to set unrealistic goals for themselves, which in turn can / will cause disappointment in ourselves.

Set simple obtainable goals, ones you know you will and can achieve.  This will build up your confidence and give you a feeling of accomplishment.  Once those are achieved, add a few more, maybe a little more difficult, and work on those.

People with anxiety love lists, love to make goals, as they continually live in the future in their minds.  Sometimes however, they over do the lists and make themselves even more anxious!  So again, simple obtainable goals to begin with , then add another one or two more challenging ones, there is no race to complete, just to accomplish.

People with depression tend to procrastinate, assuming they will only fail anyhow.  Again, simple goals to obtain are key.

Over the holidays i ran into a few youth struggling with depression / suicidal thoughts. What i found is the common denominator in them is social media.  Seeing their friends doing things, going to parties, looking prettier etc, causes a person to feel they are not as good.  The youth also feel “fake” much of the time, as they are posting pictures of themselves and events to keep up with others in their peer groups.  Many simply want to just talk about their life and problems and how to solve the pain they keep encountering. They don’t really want to kill themselves, they want people to listen .

I am a firm believer that the life you have chosen on this planet in this body is your doing. It is simply to have experiences, some want to experience loss, grief, disabilities etc to gain more insight for their soul. I compare it to a Sims game, the player makes the design up , the avatars, the events and plays the characters through their life.  Sometimes successfully , sometimes not.  Committing suicide or ending the game, just brings you back again into this world to do it all again, so even though you may get out of the pain temporarily, you will have to complete your assignment and come back to do it all again, so you may as well just stay around and complete the game this time.

I have experienced first hand a spirit who had committed suicide discuss with me what happens after the event. First he was scared to go to the light as he was fearful of the retribution he believed would happen .  Once he felt assured that it was just about the experience, he went towards source / god.  He was greeted with love and felt peace and joy again.  The sense of humor came back , the healing began of the lessons.  He was also shown how it effected those left behind, how it changed the events and life path of those close to him,  and also was shown the future he was to have had.  This was difficult for him as there were many magical events to come , which he could no longer participate in, he also knows that he will have to come back again to complete his mission, with added hardships due to the suicide.

Even though life sometimes seems unbearable, or you suffer with mental illness, take one day at a time – look to get out and interact with people, helping others, animals etc takes you out of your mind and gives you a feeling of a purpose, and intent.  Start and finish each day with three things you are grateful for, they can be as simple as you can get a clean glass of water from a tap,  and soon, the brain begins rewiring itself to see positive and you will begin to look for things that you can be grateful for that day.  Its simple and effective.

Blessings in 2020 you made it another year, be THANKFUL AND PROUD.
